Sri Senpaga Vinaygar Temple

There are several types of religious places in Singapore, however, the most common ones are the Buddhist monasteries, as Buddhism is the main religion practiced in Singapore. Visiting Singapore you can find several Buddhist Monasteries along with these there are also temples which are inclined towards the Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Sri Senpaga Vinaygar Temple is one of such temples.

A long history is attached to the establishment of the Sri Senpaga Vinaygar Temple in Singapore. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vinaygar. Around hundred fifty to two hundred years back an image of Lord Vinaygar dug out near a pond in a village. This was one of the most holy events according to the natives of that village. Another striking fact is related to the temple; the name Sengapa was kept as a Chempaka tree stood upright beside the pond from where the image was found. The chempaka is known as Sengapa in Tamil, therefore this particular site of the tree became the site of the temple. Several renovations took place both in and outside of the temple. The recent structure of the temple is the result of drastic renovations.

The ambiance of the temple is a mind-blowing one; it will offer you a complete peace of mind. Gallant ceremonies take place on every morning and evening and this is one of the most exciting scenes that every body would prefer to view. Mostly all tourists in Singapore visit the Sri Senpaga Vinaygar Temple and are allowed to offer their oblations to the Lord Vinaygar. If you would like to offer flowers and other ingredients to the Lord Vinaygar, you can have them from the shops outside the premises of the temple. The temple has its own trust as well which is collected from donations. The temple is one of the best places to visit in Singapore and it will offer you an ultimate peaceful status of mind.
