The island nation of Singapore has evolved in the recent past as one of the most popular destinations and it is required to state here that it is one of the most flourishing nations of the world. It is the home to innumerous tourist attractions and it is the gardens as well as the museums of this island nation that has provided it with its uniqueness and charm.

Regarding the gardens of Singapore, it could be well said that the Chinese Garden is one of the reputed garden of Singapore and it is also adverted to as the Jurong Garden. The construction of this park took place in the year 1975 and its design is based on the gardening art, which is an integral part of the Chinese art. However, the credit for the wonderful construction of this garden goes to Proffessor Yuen – chen Yu (a reputed architect of Taiwan). This unparalleled garden stands apart for its unique blend of the landscapes that is steeped in natural beauty and the gardens’ architectural style.

The features of this garden are:

  • Main Arch Building – The architectural style of this building represents the Chinese architecture and it is adorned with two courtyards, which are the ‘Garden Courtyard’ and the ‘Early Spring Courtyard’. It also includes a fishpond that is known as the ‘Fishes Paradise’.

  • Pavilion Plateau Tower – It represents the Chinese Garden Art in the truest sense of the term and it truly defines Chinese architecture.

  • Pagoda – This pagoda is situated by the temple, which was formerly used for the preservation of the bones by the Buddhists and it is adorned in such a way that it goes well with the design of the garden.

  • Stone Lion – The gates that provide an entry into this garden are adorned with lions made out of marbles.

  • Bonsai Garden – This garden was opened for the common public in the year 1992 and the design of this garden is based on the Suzhou – style and this magnificent garden is embellished with 2,000 bonsais that were imported from China as well as from other parts of the world. It remains daily for 11 hours that is from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm.

  • The Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum – At this museum you would get a view of the various species of turtles as well as tortoises and the opening hours of this museum are from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm on a daily basis.

  • Garden Abundance – It is the latest addition of this garden and it is also referred to as the Zodiac & Pomegranate Garden. The 12 sculptures of the Chinese Zodiac animals, the stone bridges and a sundial add to its beauty.
